This collection consists of the guest book of Belfield in Lexington, Virginia, which was the residence of former Washington & Lee University Dean of Students Frank J. Gilliam and his wife Louise. The guestbook is an original leather bound volume of Shakespeare, published in 1778, which has had one hundred and twenty original pages replaced with a like number of blank pages titled 'Guests at Belfield.'
